Sarah Newton MP the then Minister for State for Crime, Safeguarding and Vulnerability announced on 26 October that this Government remains committed to rolling out Independent Child Trafficking Advocates (ICTAs) nationally.

To date we have implemented ICTAs in three early adopter sites (Greater Manchester, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and nationally in Wales) which have been running since January 2017. It is essential that we learn the lessons from these sites and implement the right model which best supports the specific and diverse needs of these incredibly vulnerable children. This is why we are evaluating the service provided in the early adopter sites, with the help of an Independent expert advisory panel, ahead of national rollout. The early adopter sites will continue to operate until January 2019.
