NHS England has undertaken an assessment and continues to review evidence for using genetic testing for certain heart troubles and heart disease through the National genomic test directory. A robust and evidence-based process is in place to ensure that genomic testing continues to be available for all patients for whom it would be of clinical benefit. Examples of genomic testing available in the National Health Service for conditions which can affect your heart include, Familial hypercholesterolaemia, cardiomyopathies, Long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, and others.
