Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, pursuant to the Answer of 8 June 2020 to Question 51598, what recent representations he has made to the Egyptian Government on behalf of Rami Kamil.

We are following the case of Ramy Kamel closely. Our Embassy in Cairo is in regular contact with his lawyer, and has expressed to the Egyptian authorities our concern about his ongoing detention. Most recently, our Ambassador raised our concerns about Ramy Kamel's case with the President of Egypt's National Council for Human Rights on 18 November.
