Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how many claims for (a) jobseeker's allowance and (b) employment and support allowance were processed and paid within five days of a claim being made in the most recent 12 months for which data is available.

The information requested for claims processing times is shown in the table below.

The Department does not hold information on how many claims were paid within five days of a claim being made as this will vary for each claim, depending on factors such as a claimant’s circumstances and frequency of payment.
