Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to the Answer of 30 November 2017 to Question 115050, what progress the Government is making on the appointment of a Lead Commissioner for Countering Extremism.

In September 2017 the Government launched a public recruitment campaign to appoint a Lead Commissioner for Countering Extremism. The deadline for applications was 15 October 2017. Once the recruitment process is complete an announcement will be made.
