Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether he has made an assessment of the availability of funding for establishing cancer treatment hubs in (a) York and (b) England.
No assessment has been made.
NHS England has set a target for systems to increase cancer treatment capacity by 13% in order to support the diagnosis and treatment of patients on the cancer waiting list. Specific funding has been allocated to support treatment and pandemic recovery including £2.3 billion to improve diagnostic care and £1.5 billion through the Targeted Investment Fund to support our wider elective recovery plan.
