Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether holders of a biometric residence permit can have special characters such as an apostrophe in their name recorded in those documents as is already permitted with passports.

We will record apostrophes and hyphens in the names printed on biometric residence permits, but only if they are also included in the name printed on their foreign passport.
