Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what progress he has made on implementing the recommendation of the Mental Health Taskforce Five Year Forward View for Mental Health, published in January 2016, on an Advisory Committee on Resource Allocation review NHS funding allocations formulas to ensure parity between physical and mental health in 2016-17.

The Advisory Committee on Resource Allocation (ACRA) is planning to use the latest available datasets to understand differences in need met through services delivered, and to explore ways of estimating unmet needs for mental health services.

ACRA’s ongoing work to understand better the distribution of need for mental health services is vital to developing the next set of recommendations on improvements to the weighted capitation formula.
