There are a large number of different functions undertaken airside at UK airports which require a wide variety of different qualifications and training. It is for employers to ensure that workers have the appropriate qualifications and training relevant to the function they undertake and to the location in which they operate. All persons must as a minimum be trained in general security awareness before being issued with an airside pass.
