Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many patients in the last three years have been referred by their GP for elective care but have been refused treatment due to clinical commissioning group policies to restrict access to treatment because a patient (a) has a BMI of more than 30 and (b) is a smoker.
Information on how many patients who have been referred by their general practitioner for elective care but have been refused treatment due to clinical commissioning group policies to restrict access to treatment because a patient has a Body Mass Index of more than 30 and is a smoker is not held centrally.
