Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, what plans he has to ensure that companies that hold state contracts meet their obligations to smaller firms.

The obligations between a prime contractor and a subcontractor, including grievance procedures, will be set out in the contract between the two parties.

Where a prime contractor has failed to meet its obligations to pay the subcontractor promptly, the subcontractor can report the matter to the Government’s Mystery Shopper Service.
