Defra does not provide guidance to insurance companies on how they communicate their policies to customers.

More broadly, Flood Re works with insurers to help their customers understand that it exists to support households at high flood risk to access affordable insurance. It leaves it down to each individual insurer to decide on how they promote the scheme.
