Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what steps she is taking to ensure operational efficiency at call centres handling 999 calls to the police which will enable resources to be dispatched quickly and without delay.

The handling of 999 calls is an operational matter for the police. It is for elected Police and Crime Commissioners and Chief Constables to decide how their force’s resources are deployed and how best to manage their communications with the public.
