Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what steps she is taking to enable local authorities to provide co-ordination across all schools within their local authority area, including with schools run by academies to advance education within their areas.

The Department remains committed to high quality academy trusts as a key vehicle to improve educational standards by delivering sustainable school improvement.

The Department also supports Local Authorities to coordinate and collaborate across schools to best meet the needs of children in their area.
