Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what plans she has to make an assessment of the potential merits of the review conducted by Stephen Shaw on the implementation of the recommendations on the welfare in detention of vulnerable persons, in advance of issuing updated guidance on her Department's adults at risk policy; and if she will make a statement.

The Government is currently considering the judgment made by the High Court on 10 October 2017 in respect of the statutory guidance relating to the policy on adults at risk in immigration detention and will, in the near future, be engaging with a range of bodies with an interest in immigration detention as part of the process of revising the guidance. The Home Office will carefully consider any further recommendations or findings made by Stephen Shaw.
