The £387 million extension to the Local Growth Fund included £137 million for Department for Transport for retained transport schemes.

The remaining £250 million was allocated to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to support local economic recovery efforts as part of the Getting Building Fund (GBF) programme which was announced on 4 August. The Government has agreed “shovel ready” projects with Local Enterprise Partnerships and Mayoral Combined Authorities to be delivered over the next 15 months.

To help local areas prepare over 2021-22 for the introduction of the UKSPF, the Government will also provide?£220 million?additional funding to support our communities to pilot programmes and new approaches. This funding will be delivered UK-wide and further details will be published in the New Year.
