Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, pursuant to the Answer of 25 January 2018 to Question 123942, whether it is his policy that apprentices transferred from Carillion Training Services will be paid beyond the end of January; and if he will make a statement.

We have taken steps to protect learners by transferring the training of all Carillion apprentices to the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). CITB has already secured new employment, with wages, for over half of the apprentices and are working progressively to find alternative employers for all those affected. At present, it has been agreed that all former Carillion apprentices will continue to be paid beyond 31 January, whilst alternative employers are being sought.
