Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what the annual budget has been for the enforcement of smoke control areas for each year since 1992 for which data is available; and if he will make a statement.

Local authorities are responsible for enforcement of smoke control areas. Defra does not hold information on the amount which has been spent by local authorities on enforcement action.
