The strategy sets out a long‑term, cross‑government programme to accelerate the development, validation and uptake of non‑animal methods. By achieving the commitments set out in the strategy this government will achieve equal and better research and testing outcomes using alternative methods.

The Government will publish a delivery update, alongside key performance indicators on progress across all elements of the strategy, later in 2026.
