The 2018 public consultation on the use of Right to Buy receipts put forward possible ways to give local authorities more freedom in how they use money received from Right to Buy sales to help them build more council homes. This included the possibility of extending the time frame in which authorities can spend receipts from 3 to 5 years. We are carefully considering the responses received to this consultation, and the Government will publish its policy response soon.
