Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what recent assessment has he made of the effect of the UK leaving the EU on the recruitment of teachers in England.

We are working closely with the Department for Exiting the European Union (DExEU) and the Home Office, to ensure we are aware of our teacher supply needs as we leave the EU and move to a new UK migration framework. We have also engaged as a Department with the Migration Advisory Committee in their current review of the role of European Economic Area workers in the UK domestic labour market.
