To ask the Minister for Women and Equalities, what steps she is taking to promote Sustainable Development Goal 5.

The UK was instrumental in securing agreement for a stand-alone goal and dedicated targets for gender equality and women’s empowerment within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The promotion of SDG5, and other related targets, remains a priority for the Government both domestically and internationally. Government policies, such as those to eliminate the gender pay gap and to end violence against women and girls, will help us achieve the implementation of the goals.
