Protective Clothing: China

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether his Department is taking steps to reduce dependence on China for supplies of personal protective equipment.
This question was answered on 22nd March 2022
We are working with United Kingdom manufacturers to increase the domestic production of personal protection equipment (PPE) and reduce reliance on other countries. Currently, manufacturing capacity in the UK is sufficient to meet 100% of modelled demand for all categories of PPE, except gloves.
