Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what steps he is taking to ensure all eligible people are able to benefit from a water meter.

Water customers can opt for a water meter. Water companies in seriously water stressed areas (Water stressed areas – 2021 classification - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)) may implement wider water metering programmes where it is shown within their Water Resources Management Plans that there is customer support and it is cost effective to do so.
