Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many requests from NHS trusts for revenue cash support were approved by his Department in each of the last five years.

The Department does not hold data on the number of requests for revenue cash support made by NHS Trusts to NHS England in each of the last five years.

NHS England validate the requests they receive based on protecting the continuity of patient services and cash need. The Department will then approve the requests so long as they meet the criteria for revenue cash support as outlined in published departmental guidance, which is available at the following link:
