Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment he has made of the implications for his policies of Google's reported treatment of Digital Services Tax as a regulatory cost in an email to customers of that company.

The DST is a tax on businesses that generate revenue from the provision of social media services, search engines and online marketplaces.

The Government cannot comment on how individual businesses have responded to that tax.
