Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what the average time taken was for a decision on settlement or indefinite leave to remain applications from submission to response in (a) Barnsley and (b) England in each of the last 3 years.
We do not publish this specific data, however information on the average time for a decision to be taken on an Indefinite Leave to Remain application, by geographical area, is not held by the Home Office.
The current maximum waiting time for a straightforward application for indefinite leave to remain under the settlement route is six months, there are currently no plans to change this.
