Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what steps her Department is taking to ensure that low-paid workers on zero-hours contracts are aware of their entitlement to universal credit.
The Department uses multiple channels to publicise information about Universal Credit.
Our successful Opening Up Work promotion campaign is advertising Universal Credit to people who may need to claim. This includes digital advertising, posters at bus stops and in transport hubs, posters in shopping precincts, videos in GP surgeries and Post Offices, and local radio and press advertising.
To further raise awareness, we place promotional products, such as posters and leaflets, in jobcentres, including recent products to increase awareness about the availability of advances.
