Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Women and Equalities, what assessment she has made of the potential merits of including partnership income in the calculation of gender pay gaps; and if she will make a statement.
Legal firms with 250 or more employees will be required to publish gender pay gap information by 4th April.
Partners and Limited Liability Partnership members are likely to meet the definition of employees but are not counted for the actual gender pay calculations. This is because their pay is based on profit sharing, which cannot be readily compared with regular pay.
This is the first year of reporting and we will use the results to target our efforts effectively as we continue work towards eliminating the gender pay gap.
