Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer , what information the Government holds on the proportion of outward trade flows from UK ports which represents goods which originated from outside the UK in each of the last five years; and if he will publish that information by (a) country of origin and (b) sector.
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) are responsible for the collection and publication of data on UK imports and exports of goods. HMRC releases this information monthly, as a National Statistic called the Overseas Trade Statistics. HMRC do not collect information about the country of origin of goods when they are exported from the UK.
