Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what estimate he has made of the proportion apprenticeship levy that has (a) been taken from employers’ digital accounts to pay for apprenticeships and (b) been defined as committed spend for future training of apprentices.

The Education and Skills Funding Agency, through employers' digital accounts in the Apprenticeship Service, have paid £170 million between 6 May 2017 and the end of March 2018. Information on committed spend for future training of apprentices is not published as although there are commitments in the system in line with expected spend requirements, there are a number of reasons why these forecasts may change.
