Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what criteria his Department will use to assess whether the Bahrain elections in autumn are (a) free and (b) fair.

​We closely follow the political situation in Bahrain, and will do so through the upcoming elections. As with all elections in the region and beyond, we will encourage the Government of Bahrain to ensure fair, inclusive and transparent elections.
