Two members of UK-Based staff are paid more than the Prime Minister. Full details are available online as part of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s (FCO) transparency publications.

We are unable to say how many consultants are paid more than the Prime Minister pro rata. Since consultancy services are often linked to wider projects, or can be for a particular service output, it is not always possible to identify a consultant's pay within wider consultancy contract costings. Where the FCO has a business need for consultancy, which cannot be met with in-house resources, this is always subject to business case clearance in line with Cabinet Office guidance on the hire of consultants.
