Since the decision taken by the Health and Care Professions Council on 21 March 2018 to move paramedic programmes to a degree level, the Department of Health and Social Care has been working with Health Education England and the Department for Education to actively review the position of students wishing to study a paramedic programme.

This review will consider aligning paramedic courses with other healthcare courses reviewed during the recent healthcare education funding reforms.
