Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will extend access to home covid-19 testing kits to (a) employees of nurseries in the (i) private, (ii) voluntary and (iii) independent sectors, (b) employees of pre-schools and (c) childminders.
Anyone with symptoms can get a COVID-19 home test. Education and childcare workers are considered essential workers. Essential workers can order four tests for themselves and other symptomatic members of their households. For households of more than four people, the Test and Trace Contact Centre can raise an order on someone’s behalf.
Local authorities are encouraged to target testing at people who are unable to work from home during the national lockdown including education and childcare workers.
