Adoption Allowance: Self-employed

Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, if she will make an assessment of the potential merits of introducing an adoption allowance for self-employed people that is the equivalent to those who are employees.
This question was answered on 17th March 2022
The Government has no plans to introduce an Adoption Allowance for self-employed people.
Local Authorities can make discretionary payments to self-employed adopters who do not qualify for Statutory Adoption Pay.
