Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what discussions he has had with his counterpart in Ethiopia on the recent detention of protesters in the Somali region of that country.

We have repeatedly raised concerns with the Ethiopian Government around the widespread use of detention powers, and the arrest and imprisonment of people for expressing political views. We are monitoring the situation in the Somali region.
