Fire safety checks of National Health Service facilities, including hospitals, are regularly undertaken in line with legislation and guidance. This data is not collected centrally.

Fire safety guidance is available in the following Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 05 publication provided to NHS organisations: “HTM 05-02: Firecode Guidance in support of functional provisions (Fire safety in the design of healthcare premises)” 2015 edition. All Firecode guidance will be reviewed following the recommendations of the Dame Judith Hackitt’s final report on Building Regulations and Fire Safety, when it is published.
