The Home Office does not hold information centrally on the number of recruits who failed to complete their training or were dismissed before they completed their training.

The Home Office collects and publishes data annually on the number of police officers leaving the police service in the ‘Police workforce, England and Wales’ statistical bulletin. This includes the reason for leaving, such as voluntarily resignation or dismissal. Information on the number of police officer leavers, by leaver type, in each of the 43 territorial police forces in England and Wales, between the years ending March 2007 to 2022 can be found in the Leavers Open Data Table.
