Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what recent estimate he has made of the number of people who have had their application for asylum refused but cannot legally be returned to their country of origin.

Information on the number of people who have been refused asylum but cannot be legally returned to their own country is not recorded in a format which is reportable. To establish this information would be at a disproportionate cost to the department.
