Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how much money from the public purse has been spent by the NHS on treating injuries or conditions relating to alcohol use in each of the last two years.

Data on National Health Service spending on alcohol related injuries or conditions are not available in the format requested. However, the costs to the NHS in England associated with alcohol misuse are estimated at £3.5 billion each year.
