Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what progress her Department has made on the implementation and enforcement of Water Environment (Water Framework Directive) (England and Wales) Regulations 2017.

The Water Environment (Water Framework Directive) (England and Wales) Regulations 2017 are implemented through river basin management plans. The third cycle River Basin Management Plans were published by the Environment Agency in December 2022.These are the most ambitious plans yet. To help deliver them, £5.3 billion worth of action by 2027 is already planned and funded.
