We regularly monitor and review the human rights situation in a range of countries, including Bahrain, working closely with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

Rigorous human rights assessments are conducted prior to providing any overseas security and justice assistance, or making assessments on asylum claims, or considering our wider policies. These assessments are based on evidence taken from a wide range of reliable sources, including reputable media outlets; local, national and international organisations, including human rights organisations; and, as mentioned, information from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
