This question was answered on 29th May 2018

The number of contractors who have been employed since April 2017 until April 2018 by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy are:

Time period

No.

Up to one year

199

Between one and five years

13

Between five and ten years

0

Over ten years

0

‘Up to one year’ time-period includes anyone who was recorded as a ‘contractor’ who was working for the Department for any period between 1 day up to 12 months.

‘Between one and five years’ includes any ‘contractors’ who have been employed by the department for over 12 months. This does not include contractors whose contract is over 12 months in length but has yet to work for the department for that length of time.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has not existed for over five years and as such would not have had contractors for that length of time.
