Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, how many contractors have been employed by his Department for (a) up to one year, (b) between one and five years, (c) between five and 10 years and (d) over 10 years.

Defra’s systems do not differentiate between contractors and other types of contingent worker. The table below therefore sets out the number of contingent workers in the Core Department as at 31 March 2018.
