Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if he will bring forward legislative proposals to ensure that dependent children are included on the register of death of a parent.

The information to be provided for a death registration is prescribed in regulations made under the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1953. There are no plans to amend legislation to include the names of any dependent children of the deceased.
