Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what assessment he has made of the potential merits of replicating the EU Shareholder Rights Directive 2017 after the UK leaves the EU.

The UK is committed to transpose the 2017 Shareholders Rights Directive by June 2019.

As agreed at the March 2018 European Council, existing arrangements between the UK and the EU will remain in place until 31 December 2020. During this time the UK will remain in step with the EU’s rules and regulations.
