The number of women in the House of Commons is at an all-time high of 208 (32%). All-women shortlists for parliamentary elections are one of a number of different approaches which political parties have used to help achieve this. The current legislation provides for all-women shortlists up to 2030, and a decision on whether to extend this further into the future will be taken in due course.
