Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, with reference to the Answer of 24 March 2026 to Question 119087 on Maritime and Coastguard Agency: Finance, when she expects the public consultation on the replacement for the Merchant Shipping (Fees) Regulations 2018 to be published.

MCA is in the process of updating the agency’s Fees, with the replacement for the Merchant Shipping (Fees) Regulations 2018 under discussion with HM Treasury. MCA’s intention is to hold a public consultation on these replacement regulations in 2026. The precise timing of the consultation will be confirmed in due course.
