The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) led an effective and rapid response to the unprecedented impact of Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean. As is standard practice for our response to all crises, a lessons learned process took place led by the FCO and involved a range of Government Departments. To maintain the integrity of future 'lessons learned' processes, we do not propose to share the results of these exercises outside of Government as it is important that the FCO is able to reflect on lessons learned internally as part of our crisis management process. We have made and continue to make progress in implementing the actions identified in preparation for the 2018 Hurricane season.
